I am mother to two sons - Spencer (13) and Kurt (11) - who have suffered from a myriad of neurological disabilities since birth:
Dyspraxia/Apraxia of Speech
Hypotonia
Sensory Processing Disorder (gravitational insecurity, light/noise sensitivities, food texture issues)
Auditory Processing Disorder
Learning Disabilities
Encopresis
Behavior issues (uncontrollable rages)
Stuttering
Anxieties
I am sharing our Lyme Disease story, hoping that it could impact other families. Lyme Disease is the cause for these neurological disabilities because both boys were born with lyme; yes, if the mother is unknowingly infected, she can pass it to her fetus.
I am not a doctor; this is simply our family's experience with one of the most misdiagnosed, undiagnosed diseases of our time.
